• Tim Doiron // CEO, Founding Partner, Producer

    Tim Doiron is an award winning writer, producer, and CEO of Wango Films, with nearly two decades of experience in independent cinema across Canada and the U.S. A highly regarded creative producer, Doiron is known for championing bold, character driven storytelling and guiding projects from concept to release with a collaborative, filmmaker-first approach.

    Doiron’s credits span genre and scale, including Dead Before Dawn 3D (2013), 88 (2015), and the conspiracy thriller Wander (2020), starring Tommy Lee Jones, Aaron Eckhart, Katheryn Winnick, and Heather Graham. Recent releases include Simulant (2023), featuring Sam Worthington, Simu Liu, and Jordana Brewster, and the time-travel comedy Relax, I’m From the Future (2023), starring Rhys Darby.

    His crime thriller, Little Lorraine (2025), starring Stephen Amell, Sean Astin, Matt Walsh, and international music icon J Balvin, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Next up for Doiron, is the romantic comedy Grace Period, directed by Peter Facinelli and starring Ashley Greene, Seth Green, Beverly D’Angelo, and Natasha Leggero.

    With a focus on ambitious storytelling and international partnerships, Doiron is driving Wango’s growth as a global producer of elevated, audience driven content.

  • April Mullen // Founding Partner, Director

    April Mullen is an award winning director, producer, and actor whose work spans feature films and high profile television series across multiple genres. Known for her bold visual style and emotional depth, Mullen brings a distinctive voice and visionary approach to every project she helms.

    Her latest feature, Simulant (2023) was released by Vertical Entertainment and Universal Pictures. Her previous film, Wander (2021), starring Aaron Eckhart and Tommy Lee Jones, premiered at the Deauville Film Festival in France Films. Mullen also directed Below Her Mouth (2016), a fearless love story shot entirely by an all-female crew, which had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

    Selected directorial television credits include the pilot for The Spencer Sisters (2023), Netflix’s hit series Ginny & Georgia (2025), Tiny Pretty Things (2020), CBS’s Blood & Treasure (2019), The Rookie (2018), Lethal Weapon (2016), and Wynonna Earp (2016).

  • James van der Woerd // COO, Producer

    James van der Woerd is an experienced producer and line producer with Wango Films, known for managing large scale productions with precision, creativity, and a calm command of complex logistics. His feature credits include Wander (2020); Simulant (2023); and the time-travel comedy Relax, I’m From the Future (2023), starring Rhys Darby, which won Best Feature and Best Actress at the Blood in the Snow Film Festival.

    Most recently, van der Woerd produced the Atlantic set crime thriller Little Lorraine (2025) which had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is currently in post production on Grace Period, a romantic comedy directed by Peter Facinelli and starring Seth Green, Ashley Greene, Matt Friend, and Beverly D’Angelo.

    Based in Hamilton, Ontario, van der Woerd brings a collaborative and resourceful spirit to every project, helping bridge creative vision and production execution across Wango’s growing slate of internationally focused films.

  • Vanessa Amodeo

    Vanessa Amodeo is an Ontario-based filmmaker and development executive with a background in Broadcast News (Humber College) and Communication Studies (Concordia University). A key member of Wango Films, she plays an integral role in project development and production, guiding films from concept through delivery.

    Her credits include Relax, I’m From the Future, Simulant, and Little Lorraine. She is currently executive producing Grace Period, directed by Peter Facinelli and starring Seth Green, Ashley Greene, and Beverly D’Angelo.

    Amodeo is also expanding Wango Films’ presence in the documentary space, applying her development expertise to a slate of non fiction projects in various stages of production.
